Whoa.

After work last night I grabbed the iPod, a copy of Stop Stealing Sheep and took my place in line with the other geeks and dweebs — all of us in line to see Neo kick some virtual butt in the Matrix.

I thought I had come prepared, at least more than I was for waiting in line for Star Wars Episode I.

Yet I was reminded how old I am getting as the group in front of me came fully prepared with two Xboxs - linked for multiplayer goodness. Several more groups huddles around the blue glow of laptops as they watched the original movie while eating delivered pizza.

While the movie was good (read David Edelstein's review), I was more impressed with all the entertainment being had back in the line.

At least now I have a real need for a silver Gameboy Advanced SP.

Surely. The techno generation is upon us. Just be careful it doesn't swallow you like a room full of Smiths.

btw, I disagree with that review on most counts. He belittles the action like there's something wrong with it. I would wager he wanted more philosophy and less Woo.

I purposely kept my expectations in check, and found the movie to exeed them. In fact, I'm thinking about skipping work and seeing the movie again today. 8^)

I like to say that I'm so happy our long lost crack dealer is back...10 days since my last fix!

I agree with most of the less than happy reviews. With the wait and all the hype, it's similar to how I felt about Episode I after watching five minutes of Jar Jar Binks.

I was fortunate enough to catch the movie last night, too. I'd have to say my only complaint is, well, too much plot in one movie. It was a little difficult to follow all the babble. I'll have to see it again. Special F/X and action? Top notch. Flying looks fun.

Man, you just reminded me why I am so bummed that I haven't been able to see the new Matrix movie and probably will not be able to for another few weeks! The opening day crowds are always the best for getting the real fanatics. I had not really experienced that too often, but did at the Two Towers. People were dressed up as elves. Sword fights. I'm not sure about bringing my laptop to the theater. I'm sure for the Matrix there probably was enough sunglasses and black vinyl to protect a third-world country from skin cancer.

When I saw Two Towers there weren't very many people dressed up. Only one or two. I was suprised.

This crowd was pretty calm with the make believe thought there was one dork who so wanted to be Agent Smith it wasn't funny. He had the look down but couldn't pull a Kung-Fu kick to save his life.
