So Neo is Jesus. The Oracle is God. And the Architect is Satan.
Did anyone else expect the Matrix trilogy to be another pop-culture version of the Bible? Except the kung-fu part, I don't recall any of that from Sunday School.

Actually, I thought the Deus Ex Machina was supposed to be God? And maybe the Oracle was supposed to be the Holy Spirit, thus their trinity destroyed Agent Smith, who was Satan.
Gosh. I didn't even get that from the movie. I was too pissed off that basically nothing was accomplished in the finale. #1 - Trinity dies. Neo dies. #2 - They die so the Matrix can go on. #3 - Sure, there's peace. But, as the Architect says, that's how it always goes...the cycle continues.
Basically, Neo helped the Machines keep the cycle going to enslave humankind once more. Well bull-frickin'-crap.
As for the Holy Trinity thing...I guess I could see that. You obviously looked deeper, or saw more, than I could.
I walked into the movie thinking how cool it was going to be. I sat through the first half thinking that there was way too much pointless dialogue and shots of Neo. I sat through the last half pissed off becuase it is perhaps the worst ending I had ever seen in a movie.
The only upside was the pretty nice Zion fight...that and the music wasn't that bad.
At the end, I remember being glad that I only paid half price for the ticket...
Oh yeah, most of the movie paralled stuff from the Bible...but in a weird, twisted, machines rule the world and Keanu Reeves is supposed to save humanity kind of way....where is the Terminator when you need him to kick some robot a$$?
The Rocket Scientist and I enjoyed the movie a lot. Even at the price of $10.50 a ticket. We entered not expecting a new religion, great acting, not even a plot twist. We did the same with Scooby-Doo and surprisingly it worked for both movies.
The first Matrix was awesome. And I think it was great because the Warshowski Bros. only had two hours to tell their story.
With Reloaded and Revolutions, they were giving a blank check and the keys to Warner Bros. to do whatever they wanted. In situations like these, seldom is anything truly remarkable ever created. Take a look at the new episodes of Star Wars or even Return of the Jedi. Flush with ungodly amounts of cash, Lucas was able to fiddle with the formula that made Star Wars great and in doing so really dumbed down the universe that he had created in the first two movies.
Once a special effects film writer/director/producer gets flooded with cash I think it's safe to say the outcome won't be academy material. With of course, Steven Speilberg and Peter Jackson being the exception to the rule.
I'd have to agree with Greg on this one. If you go into Reloaded with a head set for the surreal feel of the first and nerves aching for the speed of the Reloaded, you will be sadly let down.
I thought that the Agent was that preacher guy from Anthrax...you know...
sing along now you eighties freaks...
Disease! Disease! Spreading the disease.
With some help from Captain Trips,
he'll bring the world down to his knees.
Power, yes Power! He'll show them all his power.
It pulses through his ice cold blood,
a whole world to devour!
He's seeing, he's calling, his legacy he's spawning.
He's coming, corrupting, among the living!
...Yeah...I know...The eighties are over...Dammmit :)
I only knew one guy in the world who listened to Anthrax. His name is Jamis and everyone was afraid to go near him, except the fellow, hard core stoners. Jamis was also an art student and in senior study, he was the nicest stoner I ever met. Even if when he listened to Anthrax.
The public beta of Central had a mixed review today. But people were talking about it everywhere. (see links on Mike's blog).
We can't add new apps yet, and there is no information on how to go about building one. After all the hype and waiting around, this is definitely an anticlimax. Not because it isn't a good product - I'm sure it's wonderful, but because it is us, the developers, who will make it interesting. When all you have to look at cinema listings and weather reports (from another country), its hard to get too excited.
yes, neo is jesuschrist, the oracle is god and the architect is satan. The matrix revolutions is all about the apocalypsis; zion is jerusalem, morfeous is one of the prophets, agent smith is the representation of the romans, the human beings who didn't believe in jesus and wanted to kill him.
Just read the new testament and you'll understand the thrilogy of the matrix.
According to the bible, after the apocalypsis, there will be 1000 years of peace on earth, put attention to the final scene of the revolutions, the conversation among the oracle and the architect.
And finally I think that little f%ing girl(I dont remember her name but I htink is sita?) is the representation of a new era, the peace that follows the final war between good and evil:the apocalypsis.

NEO DIED FOR YOUR SINS!
BILL AND TED IS YOUR IMORTAL SAIVIOR! PARTY ON NEO!
What church did you got to as a kid? There was all kinds of kung-fu goin' on in sunday school when I was a kid. At a Baptist church no less.
Come to think of it, this could be the primary reason I became an Episcopalian as an adult.

I seem to recall something from the Bible: "And with iron claw and dragon fist Abraham smote all those who worshipped false idols..."

You'd need a mighty large shoehorn to make most of these theories fit.
For me, the combining of many modern mythos doesn't "fit" but merely creates more questions... something that most watchers don't seem to care for.
