Full House.

1. Like public squabbling? Me too. Peter David, writer of Captain Marvel, publicly called his publisher out. Only break dance fighting is better than this because in comic fights, there's no rad music or cardboard mats to do the catipillar on. It's a classic battle pitting creative against management in the wonderful industry of comic books.

2. KCRW's Metropolis is three hours of electronica that can't be found anywhere else. The good news is they stream in every format known to man. And it's an NPR station! Take a listen from 7 - 10 PM (PST).

3. Did I mention Movabletype 2.0 rocks? Now feature filled with everything you could possibly want from an easy to use and install content management system. I stand by what I said earlier: Blogger users, it's time to upgrade. Radio Userlander's, it's time to defect.

4. I am contemplating a migration to XP. Trying to fight peer pressure at work where I am surrounded by Microsoft junkies. It doesn't help that every time I walk by a game store and see that Castle Wolfenstien has been out for Windows for some time, while it's nowhere near ready for shipping to Mac users. Help, help, I being repressed!

5. The other day I forgot to introduce another website linked from Airbag. Go see the Barking Moose, not to be confused with Sleepy, Grumpy, or Bashful Moose. Right now he's dissing on Zeldman's declaration of the imending death of Verdana as the font du jour. Neee!

As to converting to XP: I use it at home and work, and it can't touch the solid reliability, beauty, and UNIX mechanics of Mac OS X. Upgrade to *that* first (if'n you
haven't yet).

I'm using X but on a slow G3. I think I might just need to get on the G4 rocket ride to have a better MacOS experience.

I do really appreciate having an operating system that doesn't crash every nine minutes.

I can relate to your OS X on a G3 woes. However, even though it's a tad 'sluggish' at times, it is still rock solid.

I also have XP running on an Athlon 1600 and it is damn peppy and as stable as you could want. Highly recommended.

I have OS X running in an iMac 500mHz and it doesn't seem too slow. I don't know what kind of G3 you guys have, but from what I've read, a lot of it is in tweaking the OS settings to get it running faster. I've read people using it on a G3 233mHz Wallstreet Powerbook and getting better performance than what others gripe about on a G4 system. this is especially true with how you use Classic, and how to set that up.

I've found a great resource for OS X at http://www.macosxhints.com/. There is a OS X guide PDF on the right that is great, and written more from a users perspective than most books seem to.

Simplify! Drop the "P" and go with X!

cheers scott. i'm convinced there is a way to milk a bit more speed out of OS X on my Powerbook G3.

i'll check out your recommendation...

Yeah, thanks Scott. I will have to check that out as well.

Greg, I gave up windows long ago for Linux, and have recently been contemplating giving up Linux on the desktop for OSX. After the huge number of stories I've read recently raving about OSX, it surprised me to find someone making a switch the other direction.

As for MT2, I mostly agree. My low volume and barely post-partum Site was on 1.4 for about a week and a half before 2.0 came out. So far I've only found two problems with it so far, and love the rest.

Keep on writing, I'd given up on blogs as nothing but a bunch of self important windbags talking about their cats. Your site falls decidedly outside that category.
