As much as I would love to take the day off and spend that time reading, writing, and conversing, I must report in to the man.
Don't click away just yet dear reader!
I was able to find a shortcut to introduce a topic that has been on my mind lately. It comes from Michael who co-writes for the wonderful site, 2BLOWHARDS.
Michael writes "Are you as amazed as I am at how many political blogs there are? Thousands and thousands, it seems. May political discussion flourish on the web, of course. Still, I'm even more amazed by how drastically they outnumber culture blogs. Are there so few people interested in cultural matters? Could it be that culture-minded people still hesitate to use computers? Or that computer-ish people are unlikely to be interested in matters cultural?"
Take a minute to read the entry and continue the worthwhile discussion.

Tried to read it but was "denied" by company Web filters.
My best guess goes back to the old saying, "When you're at a party, never bring up religion or politics." People hold their strongest convictions to these idea sets.
Between reading political mumbo-jumbo out this party and that, or cultural phenomenons (like why we put pants on one leg at a time), I choose the latter.
a personal opinion backed with no scientific data follows - conservative political banter dominates talk radio and liberal writtings dominate politcal blogs.
i wonder if that says anything about those people.
too many politcal blogs just ramble endlessly and give me tired head.
just wanted to say i think you've got an absolutely brill blog.
The best blogs offer things from all food groups. When a blogger becomes to shrill or obsessive on any subject (whether Bush, Britney, or Boyfriend), it becomes dull. Which is why Greg's blog is so readable.
Griff, I agree and that's why I think it's easier for anyone to write about politics versus science or the arts. For these later categories require an small amount of education or process of learning before a person can write or speak about them. Unless they're an art critique or scientologist in which case society has already written these people off in the freak category.
