Joi Ito once said that World of Warcraft is the new golf. While I don't think most people in the business world would agree I have been surprised by how many clients and contractors are playing. The problem is that everyone is scattered across various servers making it impossible to play the back nine in Astrannar or talk shop in Orgimmar.
Now that Blizzard has enabled character transfers lets see what we can do to get everyone in the same realm. What server(s) are you on, designate Horde or Alliance, and what server(s) have you heard of others moving to?

Okay here's the thing about WoW...I'm afraid to play it. Back in the day I got hooked on EverCrack. I played it 20 hours on end. I went on guild raids, wars, etc. I put my heart and soul into that game, and it was utterly stupid. So I got away from that finally. I decided I'd never let that happen again (sadly, it really DID affect my social life)...and now everybody I know plays WoW. I'm very torn. And now clients are on there too? Not fair...
I'm really at a loss as to play or not. I really like my life and don't want to lose it again, LOL!

Ryan: pucker up buttercup, it's Airbag corporate policy to kill Horde whenever possible.
All Horde must die.... even the lowbies since they all grow up to be 60s.
That would be AWESOME. Here's the deal with my primary:
Name: Valgraine
Server: Cenarius
Details: 59 Human Rogue
No guild (they all pretty much suck on my server) which has made it pretty hard for me to play of late. Can't solo very well anymore.

Server: Nathrezim

Bring it, Storey. My moo-bear will eat you for breakfast.
OK...I wasn't going to enter in the "who has the biggest pocket protector" bruh-ha-ha.
But i just can't hold back my inner geek/nerd/gamer any longer.
I also have my main on Boulderfist. 60 Mage by the name of Phosphor. Just moved my horde chara (35) to Nathrezim.
I am in for all horde killing with my ally chara. And i am all in for ally killing with my horde chara.
Just remember: KILL KILL KILL!!!!!!!!
I played about a million hours of warcraft 2 but haven't done WoW. I find it hard to believe that it is the new golf though. Not enough down time between shots. Have you guys played golf? You only hit the ball like every five minutes or so. That's why you can do business while playing. Does WoW really allow that kind of time to chat?
I'm on Aegwynn, but it sucks. I'm ready to jump to the chosen Eden for web design bloggers addicted to Warcrack.
I have characters of high levels on both Thunderhorn and Cenarius, so you'd think I'd be a prime candidate for transfer, but I haven't been all that attracted to it so far.
Although the reason I have characters on both is because a friend mistakenly started on Thunderhorn while I was on Cenarius. If transfers were around then, one of us would have spent the $25. Now, though, I spend so much time playing Thunderhorde that it's no big deal.
Have any big guilds made the transfer all together yet?
Whatever you guys do, don't be a Guild Master .. gosh, takes you some 2 hours to just start slaughtering things with all those whispers and stuff to solve ..

Must. Resist.
The first month's free, Ryan. Then they jack up the price.
Right then. I say we find a common PvP server, and kick the everloving crap out of each other. And yes, I am a sad little man.
Alliance - Mannoroth (since day 1)
Greg - Kind of disappointed to hear that your Alliance. I mean, c'mon!

Exactly! Lets give this thread a few days and hopefully we'll have a good idea of where everyone is and where we might go.
The idea here is not to have breakfast with your blogroll, but kill your blogroll (in game of course, Airbag does not condone Zidaning in meatspace). Don't be a closet player. Suck it up, own that you play and list your character and server here. Link to this entry so that others might know of our efforts.

You know, I've always liked playing elves in Blizzard's games. Had I known that most Alliance players are also members of glee clubs I would have rolled Horde. I play to kill while my allied friends seem to only care for the simple things like picking flowers and chatting about how mean Horde players are.
Maybe it's time to trade...
Greg -- You can always cultivate a Blood Elf Horde alt once one B.C. is live! Also, as much as I want to kill my blogroll, I could also use some cool people to run through dungeons with etc. My current server is mostly useless as far as that goes.
Damn, I guess I'm out. They don't seem to allow transfer from a normal PVE to a PVP (I can understand why, but it still sucks) server and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to start over with a new character any time soon...ah, well.
I have a 60 undead mage with a mixed blue/purple set of damage gear on Stormreaver that will transfer to Chromaggus if I ever start playing again.
/me has moved to eve online. Accounting...in...spaaaace.
I've been waiting for almost a year for the damn transfers and then they bone us by not letting us move to PVP from PVE.
I've shut down my account until that's fixed or the expansion proves worthwhile.
The character transfers are nice. A couple friends are moving to my server (Lightninghoof) but I'm really excited about the cross-server BG's coming in the next patch. Fresh Meat! Muahahahahaha.
All shamans must die.

I only jumped to a PvP server because all my friends and roommates were on one. I wasn't really into PvP all that much to begin with, since all my video game training of late has been FPSes... so dying makes me irrationally angry, especially when it's another player on the killing end.
(What can I say? I'm pretty good at FPSes.)
Until my mage hit the high 40s and I got Combustion. 31 pts of fire talents + 240 intellect + damage gear = 1 happy fire mage and 30 burning bodies.
To sum up, Greg, I started out in the glee club, but now I'm... er... playing rugby? Not sure how to continue the high school organization metaphor.
This whole comments thread has totally convinced me not to play WoW any time soon. I have absolutely no time to learn another language and be submersed in a foreign land.
It sounds intriguing, but these games are so addictive, and I just got over my poker addiction... I think.
My current addiction is playing Mario Kart online with my DS Lite. That's all the energy I can muster! Toad rocks!
I've found that WoW has been a good way to stay in touch with friends from around the country. We can't go see movies together or hit the bars on weekends, but we can kill Alliance in the Eastern Plaguelands together.

Got 7/8 of my epic Tier 1 set and working on Blackwing Lair these days to fill out my epic feral set and work on Tier 2. Blizzard is promising to fix Druid's feral forms to scale damage with set pieces in the 1.12 patch. wewt!
I have a level 60 Tauren Hunter with a bunch of epix on Gilneas that I hope to transfer at some point.
STB: Email me your friend code for Mario Kart. Let's play.
55 Night Elf Huntress on Dethecus (Yes, I am playing a girl. Crack your jokes but at least I get to stare at fake-girl-ass while playing).
STB: ditto what Ryan said! I'll be buying that any day now.

Oh, I intend to. And then I'm going to join Shaman Are Teh Overlord (no that's not a misspelling) because they are the only guild who knows how to completely dominate AB and WSG.
All shamans must die.
So true. So true.

Let's get some Mario Kart action on!
So what's the verdict? I'm ready to put some beat down.
Wilson, I think there are a few more geeks who need to come out of the closet. Come on dorks and orcs, don't be shy...
Greg,
My guild bailed on Stormrage because of the performance issues (read: it was a miracle if the server stayed online more than a couple hours for the past 6 months) so we rerolled Alliance on Anvilmar. I'm on the Dark Side now! Get ahold of me if you want to get in on the action.
