As many of you know, Former President Carter was awarded the Noble Peace Prize today for his ground breaking work on the 1978 Camp David Peace Accords and outstanding commitment to improving human rights and living conditions.

And to further tie the two posts together, I grew up in the county seat of Sumter County, Georgia (Americus). Jimmy Carter grew up and lives in Plains, Georgia, which is nine miles from Americus. I've met the man once, after I moved to Atlanta. I could only stutter and was barely able to introduce myself.
